Adrienne Blazo, Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness
Adrienne supports Hudbay's growth strategy by designing and implementing systems to maximize organizational effectiveness and leading transformational change projects which consider both people and technological aspects of the business.

Adrienne joined Hudbay in September 2017 and brings a wide-ranging track record of operating and corporate experience in the extractive industry. Prior to joining Hudbay, Adrienne was Vice President Operations at Canadian Oil Sands, developing direction for the Syncrude joint venture's operations and growth strategies, with a focus on major projects, value enhancement and excellence in environmental performance. She previously held successively senior roles during a career of more than 20 years with Suncor Energy, where she began in operations as a blasting engineer, operations engineer and pit supervisor. In the 2000s, Adrienne lead the Production Planning and Logistics organization and built the Integrated Sustaining Projects organization which oversaw half a billion dollars per year in project construction. Adrienne also lead the Mining organizational redesign, affecting over 2,000 employees, which laid out the structure and strategy to seamlessly incorporate three new large scale mines over a 10 year period. Adrienne received her degree in Mining Engineering from Queen's University, with further studies at the Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario) and the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto). Adrienne is also an accredited member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
